About Us
Our Beliefs
Our schools, communities, cities, states and nation deserve proven strategies that will effectively keep individuals safer. We cannot homogenize complex problems down to ”common sense” single-dimensional solutions. “Broad brush” solutions do not solve complex and detailed problems. By expanding the body of knowledge surrounding the process of violence and the resulting devastating acts of murder, we believe communities can become safer through effective, evidenced-based interventions.

Equipping
Research
Through the exploration of the growing body of data surrounding acts of violence, our aim is to equip key stakeholders with nonpartisan evidence to increase the effectiveness of their actions to decrease violent acts and increase effective response to stop the killing and stop the dying.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
An emerging theme related to effective intervention in the disruption of the process of violence before homicidal and suicidal actions take lives is communication between various disciplines (i.e., mental health, schools, law enforcement) who are typically siloed from each other. Strategies to increase communication at all levels of intervention are being explored.
Consultation, Publication & Presentation
Findings related to emerging themes will expand the body of knowledge through publication, presentations and consultation with stakeholders.
